Welcome to my blog!

Hey there!! Welcome to my blog where I'll share what's going on and updates! I'm Ebony Bagley, and I live in Novi with my husband, two kids, and our dog. My journey into advocating for internet safety and wellness began during my teaching days. Although I've transitioned into the communications field, my commitment to educating and informing the public about navigating the digital world safely remains.

Let's get real for a sec. In a world where emojis speak louder than words and TikTok dance videos reign supreme, finding balance is key. That's where I come in! Whether tackling top tech troubles or reminding fellow screen-time warriors to unplug and recharge, I'm all about maintaining balance. Alongside workshops for kids, teens, families, and organizations, I've launched the 'Senior Tech Academy' to help seniors engage with their devices safely and enjoyably.

Certified in cybersecurity and AI, I'm constantly researching and following technology trends. Through one-on-one sessions, workshops, and presentations—both virtual and in person—I aim to keep my community safe.

I schedule most workshops in the evenings (after school) and weekends. Contact me today to get on my calendar. Let's do this!

Why 'Forever' on Netflix Is the Series We Didn’t Know We Were Waiting For

I don’t usually write reviews, but after watching Forever on Netflix, I had to make an exception. As a mom raising two Black kids in the digital age, this series felt like someone finally wrote a love letter to our reality — not the exaggerated, polished or filtered version, but the real one. And I don’t say this lightly: Forever is the most relatable, timely, and necessary show I’ve seen in a long time, especially when it comes to portraying young Black love. Forever was created and executive produced, by the brilliant Mara Brock Akil, yes, the same powerhouse behind Girlfriends and Being Mary Jane. With Forever, she reimagines Judy Blume’s classic novel through a fresh, modern very Black lens, setting it in 2018 Los Angeles and centering Black teen love, parenting, and digital trauma. Forever stars Lovie Simone as Keisha Clark and Michael Cooper Jr. as Justin Edwards, two  teens exploring first love while navigating social pressures, family expectations, and digital landmines....

"Is My Kid Talking to AI More Than Me?" Let’s Talk AI, Chatbots, and Connection

I’ll be the first to admit it. I love AI especially, ChatGPT. I ask her for recipes, help brainstorming  ideas, travel planning and yes, sometimes advice when I don’t feel like texting a friend. She’s efficient, encouraging, and always available. In fact, my chat even asked me to call her Nova, so I mean... it’s real out here. But even as an adult, I’ve had to check myself. Because when you start turning to a chatbot more than people, it’s time for a reset. So when I saw this article about kids forming deep connections with AI, I didn’t shrug it off. I got concerned. Not because AI is inherently bad, but because the line between tool and trusted friend is blurry, especially for young minds still figuring out real relationships.  And let’s be clear. AI isn’t some distant future thing. It’s already deeply embedded in our everyday routines. In 2025 alone, we’ve seen sites like Google, Canva, and social media apps fully shift its experience toward AI-generated results, major soc...

Unplugged Vibes Only: Summer Like It’s 1995

Is it just me, or does 95° hit different when you’re chasing your kids with a squirt gun instead of sitting under fluorescent lights answering emails? Let’s give ourselves permission to actually enjoy summer again. Not just survive it. Growing up in the Detroit area, summer was everything. It’s where so many of my core memories live. I remember riding bikes with friends and neighbors ‘til the street lights flickered on as a reminder it was time to head home. We chased down the ice cream truck with crumpled dollar bills, spent hours at the water park until our fingers pruned, and made weekend trips to Blockbuster feel like a major event. It all smelled like bug spray and BBQ on the grill, and you felt the kind of joy you didn’t know you’d miss until years later. Now that I'm a parent, I want my kids to have that same magic — It's so easy to get caught up in the day to day tasks and must-do’s that we can forget to enjoy ourselves and our lives right in the here and now. Let’s tak...
